Hi, my name is Anna Tumbarello…

…and I’m an artist.

My interest in art began at a very young age, being greatly inspired by those who raised me. Growing up, there were a lot of artists in my family who encouraged my creativity.

But it wasn’t until I discovered my great grandfathers artworks, where I decided pursuing art as a career was something I was strongly interested in. At the age of 7, after the passing of my great grandmother, I was exposed to the oil paintings of my great grandfather.

While I never had the chance to meet him, his memory lives on in the oil paintings he created.

A lot of his paintings depicted various cities, lone houses in fields or lakes, nature heavy scenes, and more.

Today, a lot of his paintings hang within the homes of my family. And growing up, it was these paintings that I admired and looked up to. Ever since, I have continued to look to his creations for further inspiration and growth in my skill as an artist.

Fast forward to my time in high school, I had two incredible art teachers that only further inspired me to pursue my art career. They helped me grow as an artist, encouraging me in every way they could.

In my junior and senior year of high school, I chose to be a part of the International Baccalaureate Program, taking IB Visual Arts during those two years. For if she ever reads this, I hope my teacher knows that I am forever grateful to all the help she gave me in those two years I was in her class. I wouldn’t be the artist I am without you.

In 2023, I was able to submit and enter into the Art League of Long Islands “Big Picture” exhibition, with a self portrait that was 5 feet tall. For reference, I am 5’1”.

As of May 2025, I have graduated from my AAS degree in Fine Arts at the Fashion Institute of Technology. And will begin my BFA in August of 2025

As of today, and every moment after it, my plan is to make art for myself and others. I want to be able to properly give life to the vast amount of ideas that are held captive in my sketchbook.
