Hi, my name is Anna Tumbarello…

…and I’m an artist.

My passion for art began at a very young age, inspired deeply by the creative environment I grew up in. Surrounded by artists in my family, I was constantly encouraged to explore my imagination and express myself creatively.

However, my connection to art became truly personal when I discovered my great-grandfather's paintings. At seven years old, following my great-grandmother's passing, I was introduced to his oil paintings for the first time. Although I never had the opportunity to meet him, his work left a lasting impact on me and continues to influence me today.

Growing up surrounded by his works in my family's homes, I found myself constantly drawn to them. They became a source of inspiration, comfort, and motivation, encouraging me to continue developing my own artistic voice.

During high school, my passion for art continued to grow thanks to two incredible art teachers who encouraged me to pursue a creative career. Their guidance and support helped shape both my confidence and my skills as an artist.

During my junior and senior years, I enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Program and studied IB Visual Arts. That experience challenged me creatively and allowed me to grow tremendously as both an artist and an individual. I remain incredibly grateful to the teacher who mentored and supported me throughout those years.

In 2023, I exhibited a five-foot self-portrait in the Art League of Long Island's "Big Picture" exhibition — a meaningful milestone in my artistic journey.

In May 2025, I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with an AAS degree in Fine Arts and began pursuing my BFA later that year. I had finished my Associates abroad in Florence, which shaped my outlook on life as an artist. After studying abroad I made it a goal of mine to travel the world and to see and make as much art as possible within my adventures.

In April of 2026 I was the President of the FIT student collective for the Brooklyn Fine Art Print Fair, and had the honor of working with some of the Fine Art’s faculty and 19 FIT students.

In June of 2026 I had the honor of working with Kathy Caraccio, a Master Printmaker in NYC. I had the honor of viewing her collection, learning about her experiences as a printmaker, and the vast amount of printmaking techniques that exist.

Today, my goal is simple: to create art that feels honest, meaningful, and alive. I strive to bring the ideas that fill my sketchbooks to life, creating work not only for myself but also for others who may connect with the stories and emotions within it.
