Frequently Asked Questions

What do you specialize in?

As of today, I mostly find myself to be a painter. As much as I love other mediums, painting is what I have done most, and what I have the most experience with. Does this mean I’m incapable of working with other mediums? No. Not at all. I actually know a lot about a variety of mediums including but not limited to; sculpting, printmaking, photography, drawing, collage/ mixed media, watercolor, guache, oil painting, acrylic painting (my favorite), and digital media.

What does your creative process look like?

It’s quite simple. I get the idea, and I go with it. Most of the time I’m painting from my own photography, but I also sometimes find myself creating projects from my own dreams, random thoughts and even conversations that are happening between friends, family, or even more pressing global issues. I start with a sketch, and then I jump straight into the project.

When it comes to working with a client, I do my best to communicate with you about every tiny aspect of the artwork you are looking for. The creative process for this particular scenario is we discuss what you’re looking for and then if I get ideas as I work, I communicate what I’m planning to do before acting on the piece of artwork. So the process of this would include discussing the size of the work, the medium, the image, the idea, what you are looking for, and what I can do.

What are your inspirations?

Categories that heavily inspire me are mostly nature, animals, sculptures, people, politics, and global warming. But if we’re discussing artists, I’m greatly inspired by the famous French artist, Claude Monet, as well as the Dutch painter, Frans Hals.

I’m also heavily inspired by the impressionist movement, especially when it comes to my artwork that revolves around nature.

How do you navigate selling your work?

To start, lot of self promotion online, especially on my Instagram pages @thatweirdosittinginthefridge3 and @annasartfridge . So far, most of the paintings that I’ve sold have been to friends, family, and peers of mine.

After I get into contact with someone who’s interested in one of my paintings, or interested in me painting one for them, it all comes down to communication between me and my client. In regards to the pricing of my work, I explain that further on my “Services” page.

What about shipping? How does that work?

Once you’ve purchased one of my paintings, or commissioned a painting from me and it has been completed, I will ship the painting to you. Shipping is something that is communicated from the beginning, especially when it comes to commissions. You must pay for shipping. Shipping does not change the price of the painting, regardless of its cost.
